Hiii! As a former karateka (I stopped because I am now a pacifist) I am fascinated by this site. Karate, especially the Shotokan style that I practiced, has a complex and tragic history of being co-opted and recuperated by imperialism. You are spot-on in saying that much of martial arts culture is obsessed with the idea of using it as a means of dominating others, rather than liberating others, and although I now reject martial arts as a way to achieve liberation, I can definitely appreciate your work in examining the martial arts from an anti-authoritarian perspective. We should spar sometime lol
